Where pricing gets misleading

The cheapest overall plan is not always the cheapest usable plan for your workload. Small differences in RAM, storage, and disk performance turn a low sticker price into a false economy quickly.

Regional reality

Providers with more regions or better local performance often charge more than the absolute budget players. Price should be filtered by where your users are.

Cheapest VPS by Stack

What is the cheapest VPS in 2026?

Scaleway currently has the lowest entry price in this dataset at $1.15 per month.

Why do VPS prices vary so much?

Entry pricing reflects a mix of CPU allocation, storage type, regional footprint, support model, and whether the provider optimizes for raw value or a broader developer platform.

Are cheap VPS plans good enough for production?

Sometimes. Small production apps can run well on entry plans, but the right answer depends on RAM, storage, workload spikes, backups, and whether the provider’s performance is consistent under load.

Should I compare price alone?

No. Price only becomes useful once you filter for the specs you actually need. That is why the pricing hub links into stack-specific and workload-specific pages.

Need more than a price table?

Compare providers side by side or go straight into workload-specific pages.
